President RMG (Talent Mgmt), Director Nashville Music Academy, Owner Lacie Lee Farms and Founder at Sangtuary Church. Nashville by way of WV. Appalachia forever.
My neighbor (at the church) popped out today while I was taking out the trash. After exchanging Merry Christmases, he felt compelled to share something. He pulled out a worn piece of paper from his wallet and said “Every day is precious, this was the day I died.” (1/2)

An upward spiral: How small acts of kindness really can change the world, according to research • Kansas Reflector

The Chefs Table episode on Kalaya had me in tears.
Our favorite restaurant, Kalaya, just published a cookbook so of course we had to try it out. Delicious!

I gave a talk at this church in October and the congregants and Rev.Dr.Boswell were wonderful. I can't help but think that this is part of the racial justice backlash and "obeying in advance".
Damn shame. Anyone have more information, please feel free to let me know.

I serve a group of children in North Nashville through our Children’s Choir at Sangtuary.

It’s a free program for Pearl Cohn and Jones Paideia that provides food as well.

Please join us for our Christmas concert with Rev Sekou and the Freedom Fighters 12/10.

Loved the CBS Sunday Morning segment on the Kurdish baker in Nashville. I made a lot of Kurdish friends when I worked in hospitality. Most had come here after the last Iraq War and 9/11. We have the highest pop. of Kurdish folks per capita in Nashville.

The "bluesky is an echo chamber" think pieces that keep popping up really tickle me because they show how certain people genuinely believe social media should be for debating and arguing and not talking about the things that make you happy and sharing art with the world.

Today we (Sangtuary) took 50 lbs each dressing, mashed potatoes and green beans to our Pearl Cohn family for their Friendsgiving. Lemme tell ya, you haven’t lived until you driven Interstate 65 with 150 lbs of food in tin casserole dishes.

It’s really important to share what people are doing to actually resist fascism.

Compare these Black men to the people on here who are bleating about being “committed to fighting for democracy” but only if you follow them back by Christmas.
Strikingly, the only group that responded en mass and IMMEDIATELY to the neo-Nazi march this weekend in Columbus was a group of black men.

Everyone else? Oh, they put out statements. Black men linked arms and marched the NEXT day.

And this is why I say “Godspeed” to everyone who ain’t us.
