npr Israel and Hamas agree on the 'first phase' of Gaza ceasefire deal
The deal raises the possibility that the war may now be over, ending the bloodiest fighting ever between Israelis and Palestinians.

Been busy in the old journalism mines today (not everyone gets a $150m payout). Good to see the NYT and WaPo leading w/the Trump-is-about-to-start-a-civil-war story. (though not framed as dire. nyt is full of live updates; wapo is "Trump’s use of Guard may have lasting impact on cities and troops")

Megyn Kelly has now made multiple denigrating posts about me across X, YouTube, her podcast so I’m sharing this. Unlike her, I don't perform dislike and disdain in public, then become my real self when the cameras are off. That's the definition of the grift she accuses me of;I find it profoundly sad.

Why do they keep letting Ryan Murphy direct these horror series???

True, which is why the decision to do this feels so unwise.

Jony Ive is at OpenAI creating a screenless device with an always-on personal assistant similar to Humane’s AI Pin or the movie Her.

The device is struggling with privacy concerns as it’s a recording device and OpenAI doesn’t have enough data center capacity if the product becomes successful.

Breaking away from what your parents want is already a cannon event. But to do so by protecting your health feels like such a betrayal.

When he started getting his shots in his 20s — including for polio, whooping cough and measles, according to medical records — he said it felt like an act of rebellion toward his parents, whose views he now vehemently disagrees with.
“I was just like, ‘Load me up, Doc,’” he said.
Their parents never got them vaccinated. As young adults, they faced a choice.
Falling vaccination rates around the country mean more will grow up without protection from debilitating diseases until they are old enough to decide for themselves, typically at age 18.

This story describes such a psychologically complex phenomenon, breaking with the parents who didn’t vaccinate you to get protected now. But it’s encouraging to read—it’s not too late to protect yourself and others, and the shots themselves are generally no big deal

It’s a core First Amendment principle. This is utterly lawless behavior, for which there will be no (short-term) consequences.

That he does it so casually, as they are walking away, in front of cameras.

Rightly confident in his impunity.
“[t]he freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state.”
