New here. Easily entranced by the sky, my cat, and words (o, precious life-sustaining groupings of letters). Have written hundreds of poems and kept them all to myself. Not sure why.

Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

antidote: outside.

bright sky, a myriad of greens, curious wildlife, a Barbara Kingsolver book, and a fox’s wedding throwing glorious dewdrops around like confetti

Pausing to reflect this #EarthDay and thought of this heron I spotted on the Atlantic coast earlier this year. The ebbing, flowing water seemed like it would knock the heron from its stance, but it didn’t. The heron was calm and resolute.

Nature gives us so much.

It’s Valentine’s Day and I just want to say that empathy is alive.

It’s blazing.

Sending love and light to all whose jobs are being cut, whose farms are going to go under, whose food is being withheld, whose security is shaken. And to all who are fighting with all they have.

Not David Lynch, visionary master of storytelling 😥

His storylines scraped the depths of surrealism

He mined the psyche for the mundane + the bizarre, and in a perfect imitation of life, made characters with both

His ease with his strangeness inspired me profoundly

RIP, Mr. Lynch. 🤍🤍🤍

You will read countless times today that the LA mayor cut the LA Fire Department's budget by $23 million.

That is a lie.

The budget was actually *increased* by $50 million.

Novels, short stories, TV shows, movies and other works of fiction are packed with useful truths

But serious posts by our president-elect are built almost entirely of lies

Everything in this photo is truth. Standing in places likes this helps me hold on to the light. I hope you can feel that sunshine, too. ✨

I've been thinking about this poem by Langston Hughes recently and although it was published in 1931, it remains relevant as ever.
