Proud of Sarah Krumholz, med student in our lab, for winning the award for Outstanding Research Publication by a Medical Student!
Her mentor is my former mentee @tbplante.bsky.social, so that makes her my ‘granddaughter’?? 🤣

Watched Ghostbusters with the kids. Such a great movie! I set myself up for being woken up 43 times tonight though.

Anyone else have an albatross project?

I have a paper that is older than 2 of my children finally under review at a journal.

Uhhh... DASH wasn't associated with reduction in BP in this trial. Sodium reduction was.
tbplante.bsky.social
This trial in particular. Saw the results presented at AHA Epi a few months ago. This fits a nice gap in evidence on the use of DASH among not only diabetics but also people on antihypertensives.

I'm biased though, Scott Pilla was my cofellow and Larry Appel was my post doc mentor.

Remember when Google searches actually gave you results that were useful? The internet is seemingly wall to wall AI slop now.

Congratulations to the #OPTION investigators for completing a likely practice-changing trial of #AFAblation & #LAAOcclusion in AF.

The supplement has probably the most remarkable tabulation of adverse events I've ever seen.

Better #CardiovascularHealth (aka #LifesEssential8) is associated with lower #CVD, #Cancer, and other deaths in #REGARDS. Fascinating associations by LE8 component.

Had a great visit with Tisdale lecturer, Ken Mukamal (@bidmcreseach.bsky.social). Stopped by our (@uvmlarnermed.bsky.social) biorepository. Behold! Specimens from studies that NIH has spent hundreds of millions of dollars supporting. MAJOR advancements in scientific knowledge have come from here.

showed this to LilAware and I think it might be a good example of how a large proportion of protocol violations may make per protocol analysis more appropriate than intention to treat
