My quote of the day

There is a magnet in your heart that will attract true friends. That magnet is unselfishness, thinking of others first; when you learn to live for others, they will live for you.

Some information (still not primary data, more like marketing speak) about the Apple Hypertension detection.

>2,000 adults wore the watch ~12 hours/day for a month and took BID cuff BP; The watch was “as accurate as the cuff” for detecting signs of HTN what ever that is

Try to find a good reference that describe incidence of impotency related to spironolactone and stumble into this classic article from 1972 by Dr. Carey&Liddle. 3/24 men (12.5%) with low renin HTN had impotency with 400mg/d of aldactone 6wks. pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/5082464/

Remember all the cardiologists whining about Atrial fibrillation with the Apple Watch?

I am sure it has lead to many unnecessary referrals - but also possibly some saves. Surely they didn’t have tsunami of inappropriate referrals right?

To me, It sounds like a PPG sensor analyzing the pulse transit time "Apple Watch use data from the optical heart sensor to analyze how a user’s blood vessels respond to the beats of the heart. The algorithm works passively in the background reviewing data".
