He aint lying.
If the DEA had killed 80 innocent Americans in the course of apprehending one drug dealer, there would be riots. But we are so ghoulishly indifferent to the lives and humanity of people abroad that it's barely even part of the conversation.
A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

Many of us are exhausted having worked to learn the truth of our own history on our own, but also having to learn the history of American white people that most white ppl refuse to learn.

That is partly why when you say “why are you surprised” it’s so annoying. Believe me, we are not surprised!

A man who worships himself will eventually demand a temple.
When democracy grows weak, a vain man will always try to crown himself.
The next President should pledge to dismantle this monument to vanity and turn the White House into what it ought to be, a home for a servant of the people.

I agree!
I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base don’t even know that’s what it stands for.

Most of the power authoritarians have is freely given. We should not comply with them in advance.

Trump is far weaker than he looks. So is the GOP. We should draw them out, drain them at every opportunity, and fight for people’s wellbeing at every turn.

We have been sent here to fight for people.
AOC: I think there's two things that are happening at once: One, there absolutely is an unprecedented abuse of power, destruction of norms, erosion of our government and our democracy in order to prop up an authoritarian style of governance

The government is officially shut down. Make no mistake: Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. This is THEIR shutdown. They had every tool to govern and chose chaos instead. The American people are the ones paying the price.

Republicans have the keys to the kingdom.

The White House. The Senate. The House.

Tonight, they have used their power to shut down the government.

The American people, including our patriotic federal workers, will pay the price for Republicans' callousness and incompetence.

America voluntarily destroyed itself in the dumbest way possible. It's so painful and also darkly comic. I mean, it's just remarkable how the most incompetent and reckless people were elected.

What else did people expect?

All of this could have been avoided.
