Jack Smith is calling for the House Judiciary Committee to release the recording of his full closed-door deposition before the panel.

"Doing so will ensure that the American people can hear the facts directly from Mr. Smith, rather than through second-hand accounts."

As you know, I am an expert on letters/documents. This one is an obvious fake, clearly made by someone in the days after Epstein died as a very sick joke. The content is preposterously ridiculous in every way and the postmark is from North Virginia. DOJ obv wants it out there for the reason below.
I deleted my post about alleged letter from Epstein to Nassar because I’m concerned about its authenticity and I’m worried that sharing it may help the DoJ damage the credibility of other documents if it turns out to be a forgery.

5. These people are all incredibly stupid but also venal but also certain they can get away with it. Maybe they can, but it’s game over for Trump with this latest Epstein dump and the ever shittier polls, so the timing of these nincompoops is exquisitely boneheaded.

This is an excellent explanation of how unbelievably incompetent and full on nonsense the note from Weiss was. My guess: 1. Someone who has very little experience is journalism (and not the stuff that tickles billionaires) is clearly a mile wide and foot deep as an editor and in far over her skis.
Watching the segment: The first thing I'm going to zero in on is the crime stats. Here's how 60 Minutes set it up:
- Leavitt saying the people going to CECOT were the worst of the worst
- Then 60 Minutes saying the Human Rights Watch report says that nearly half had no criminal history at all
Here's the rest of Bari Weiss' memo. "We do not present the administration's argument for why it sent 252 Venezuelans to CECOT," and on Sec. Noem's trip "no comment from her or her staff about what her goal on that trip was... or if she had or has concerns about the treatment of detainees." LOL!

This is entirely to please Trump, who has voiced criticism of 60 Minutes under the new owners, who are the definition of rank amatuers, emphasis on rank. This Stephen Miller interview suggestion is idiotic in the context of this story and shows a startling lack of sophistication or smarts.

Doing another piece with Miller later is fine, but to add him here after the administration declines to officially have any comment is a suck up gimme. The real word we are looking for here is complicit.

As Republicans play defense by risking a Sleepy Trump in front of people as the cameras roll (get ready for the inevitable gaslighting, name calling and 😴 clips), here’s the hard truth:
Americans are facing food lines 4x the national average, and medical bankruptcy.

BREAKING: Democrats have *flipped* a seat in Georgia's state House tonight.

Democrat Eric Gisler has won the seat, which was previously held by a Republican who resigned this fall.

This is a red territory: Trump won the district by 13% in 2024.

📌That's a damn fine job in TN-07, and just the latest example of why Democrats need to compete EVERYWHERE.

📌Fully 100 current Republicans seats were less pro-Trump than TN-07 in last year's elections. If we hit these bastards where they are, it will be a bloodbath for the repulsive GOP next year.

Really looks like the United States is about to launch a regime change war against Venezuela with:

-No casus belli
-No authorization from Congress
-No allies or international support
-No plan for a post-Maduro Venezuela
-No preparation for any sort of stabilization or containment of the fallout

Good to see: @repyassansari.bsky.social tells me she expects 50 Republicans to vote to release Epstein files (agreeing w/MTG). Dems also want to bring in heads of financial institutions on Epstein transactions.
