NC would like to reassure Daphne of her people's compliance with her directive (in mitigation for the setting, they were up until late last night, today's Dydd Santes Dwynwen and a group lie-in's excused).
A very fluffy blue tortie tabby cat is asleep on her people's bed. She's lying on her back, tail towards the camera and back paws in the air. Her head is resting on Mme's under-bedclothes legs, eyes closed and breathing deeply (it has to be said, with a hint of a snore).

Kitchen-foraged old fave last night. Ching-he Huang's Five spice seitan, sweetheart cabbage, sweetcorn & chilli, tweaked as per: tempeh subbed for seitan & noodles added.

Went down nicely, alongside apple-citrus Sixteen Ridges Vineyard fizz, made with Ledbury-grown Pinot Noir & Seyval Blanc.
A brown-edged and speckled blue bowl filled with five spice tempeh, sweetheart cabbage, sweetcorn, chilli and noodles. Made with half a cabbage that'd been languishing in the fridge since before Christmas - and was absolutely fine. On top: a few sliced spring onions on the top (wizened fridge rescues) and a toasted sesame oil drizzle.

A 2013 vintage glass or two went down nicely last night. Felt fitting to mark our farewell to Christmas, its decorations & down time.

Mature, yet fresh and crisp., the cuvée is named after Sir Harry Kroto, one of the team who discovered the C60 molecule.
