Bodily autonomy is a human right.

Transness isn't a disease that needs to be cured. We're a normal part of the spectrum that is the human condition. And we deserve to have the final say over our own bodies - not just because of the harm if we don't, but because they belong to us and not the state.

“chronic illness brings misery but invaluable lessons too. It unveils relationships, sifting genuine from superficial. It exposes society’s systemic ableism, even among the ostensibly progressive. It reveals how conditioned the world is by ableist norms, how difficult life is when you don’t fit”

The Covid pandemic has given rise to many dangerous beliefs. Anti mask & anti vaxx rhetoric. Eugenics. Fascism.

The rampant “othering” that occurred has allowed hate to take hold.

People debate facts. Not opinion, facts.

We’ve stopped discerning truth from lies & it’s only getting worse from here

Mask bans kill disabled people. It’s a eugenics tool. By others not masking in solidarity, you’re saying your comfort and convenience is more important than our lives. Abled comfort and convenience do not outweigh disabled lives and safety. Does your “we keep us safe” include disabled people?

To instrumentalize what my sister is saying below: every time someone says DEI say “you mean civil rights?” Every time someone says they are against woke reply “oh so you’re a segregationist!” Words have meaning! Don’t allow that nonsense to stand.
Only saying once on bsky b/c I know it is not entirely useful, but it is totally exhausting that in 2016 some of us said “they’re Nazis,” some of us screamed “they’re segregationists,” and a whole lot of very serious people now posting about them being Nazis and segregationists gaslight us for years

David Lynch passes away at 78 after a battle with emphysema.

He had stated in 2024 that he could no longer leave his home due to the high risk of Covid.

If more people would mask up, we wouldn’t have to isolate. “You do you” policies leave people like Lynch with no choice but to “just stay home”

Just so you’re aware, every library in LA is offering free masks right now due to the fires. Another reason to love libraries! Let’s hope they continue after the fires are over. Masks save lives in many ways.

With news that many of the people who died in the LA fires were disabled, it's important that we talk about how disabled people are left out of disaster planning

Around the world, disabled people are disproportionately affected in emergency situations because responses don't account for our needs

Proud of everyone in the Covid cautious & disability communities who’re tirelessly handing out masks & purifiers in LA.

Many have been clean air advocates throughout the pandemic & villainized for not following the “back to normal”‘narrative.

Without them, thousands wouldn’t have masks right now

If you’re still masking - thank you.

If you’re still trying to convince others to mask - thank you.

If you understand the benefit of a well fitted respirator - you’re awesome.

Masking isn’t just a way to safeguard one’s health. It’s an act of solidarity with disabled & marginalized communities.
