I’m not googling what happens if it’s not, choosing to believe modern medicine has come up with some probably unpleasant but ultimately effective treatment.

Right? It would suck if I started with the chronic nausea and diarrhea just as the kitchen finally became fucking pleasant to cook in. (We are all going to go get blood work obvs.)

The downside is that this is all a massive pain in the ass and we may all have lead poisoning including the cat.

The silver lining is that since we’re spending a shit ton of money we don’t have hiring experts to finish kitchen redo rather than self-contracting and DIY, we are going to just go ahead and widen doors and install windows that we had planned to do down the line. So I’ll get my fancy kitchen faster.
