Nova Roma reminds me a lot of banished. There's a similar charm to building up your small colony, and also there's a similar cascade effect. One building burns down, everyone gets depressed, and dies.
But hey, at least I don't need to worry about tools (yet)!

I've been doing this all year but indie journalists have the same issues as indie games. Unless it's a big name, nobody cares.

yeah the harsh reality is that we do take a chance on small games no one's heard of a lot more often than anyone thinks we do. but literally no one reads the articles, which then reinforces to the powers that be that they're not worth doing. I don't know how to solve that problem!

The relic management / inventory side of Moonlighter 2 is so engaging. I often hoard relics to set them off in a cascade of points right at the end of the run.

Moonlighter 2 is real good, it feels like the Hades of Digital Sun's roster, a game that takes everything they learned from their prior titles, and levels it up.

After playing more I can confirm the unit AI in Anno 117 is garbage. I can place 3 siege ships with extra range to bombard something, and they instead die after sailing close to point blank the enemy position.

I've been playing Anno 117 and oh boy is this a game that eats the hours. It's so easy to get lost in the minutiae of min-maxing health/happiness/fire safety, or expanding to a new island.
