Hope your adventures in snowblowing were as easy as possible!

We didn't do a first pass and it wasn't too bad! 8-10 inches, heavy, but not sloppy wet. Even the shovel work wasn't heart-attack-inducing.

I wish you more knitters in your life. They are a frequent thing I gift because I like making them and they're small and portable projects. (And if you don't get any this year, feel free to hit me up - my docket pre-Christmas is full, but I could make some for you in January!)

It's a lovely color and you deserve it to be something you don't feel icky about! Whether that's because you block it out and decide you love it and find your groove with it or rip it out to become something else, I hope you are able to make it something you feel good working on.

Thank you!

My understanding is that most desert cultures dress in layers for a variety of reasons, including that it tends to get cold at night. These stockings are designed to be worn under boots, which would have been common at the time.

Thank you!

In theory, the calf shaping will help. The wool/silk pair stay up just with the shaping and the natural negative ease in the fabric. The cotton pair (which won't have as much elasticity) may need garters tied above the calf/below the knee.

And for the knitters interested in this kind of thing, here's the inside, showing the floats from when I turned them inside out to finish drying this morning. 🧶 #MySCA

Thank you! To be fair, I started with the reproduction pattern in Folk Stockings, which is I think 6 or 7 sts/inch? These were definitely a progression to get to!
