Our fate is not sealed, but democracy and peaceful protest are defunct. You can win but not by passively hoping democracy will save the day at a ballot where the authoritarian counts the votes.

He is putting troops in cities under a premise he made up. He doesn't need a real premise. He absolutely can just seize voting machines--are you going to stop him? He has assets in place. All these things are within a phonecall for him. You cannot vote Trump out

There will not be a real election. I am telling you this as an academic. No authoritarian who has gotten elected to absolute power has ever held a fair election where they risked losing that power. The part where elections could stop Trump ended in Nov 2024.

So you are advocating for tactics that Trump can safely ignore as weak and lacking resolve, and saying that if we pursue an active resistance, then Trump will be able to do the things he is currently and actively doing.

The obvious solution to ICE is not unmasking them. It is holding them collectively responsible when this is all over. Was some raped or murdered by a masked ICE agent? No way to tell who is responsible? OK all of them are responsible. Every last one, whether working a desk or terrorizing the street

They didn't prioritize cruelty, but they also didn't stop it or make ICE face consequences. They just treated the whole children-in-concentration camps thing as in the past and irrelevant, when they should have dismantled ICE to the foundation
