Fetterman is a fraud and a liar who betrayed his voters and everyone who worked so hard to elect him. I hate that I campaigned for him.

Prospect’s latest issue hits newsstands today! Here’s a preview of what you’ll find inside... 🧵

Our cover story is by Israeli genocide scholar Omer Bartov, who argues that Netanyahu’s onslaught against Gaza has been genocidal—but Israelis refuse to see it:

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.

Also, China is rolling out renewables at the rate of 1 1GW nuclear reactor equivalents PER WEEK, at a fraction of the cost. While it has the world’s largest number of nuclear reactors either commissioned, in development or planned, the total is TINY in comparison. The problem is financing risk.

Bill Jenrick (father) LinkedIn:

"I served a 5 year apprenticeship at AEI Manchester and qualified as a Management accountant. Then I worked as an accountant...."

I know plenty of politicians 'working classify' their backgrounds, but this from Jenrick is taking the piss.

His father's linked in is here: uk.linkedin.com/in/bill-jenr...

He was a managing accountant who ended up as the Managing Director of Cannon Industries

We had this rule in fringe, where if the total number of punters in that night was smaller than the combined cast and crew, you offered a refund or a ticket for a busier night.

Barack Obama seems to have decided that silence is overrated. After years of sticking to the “former presidents don’t talk about their successors” rule, he’s now breaking out of retirement — and and taking up a high-profile role in the Democratic Party’s fight against Trump.

Governor Whitmer was almost kidnapped by armed thugs. Governor Shapiro‘s house was set on fire. Nancy Pelosi‘s husband was violently attacked by someone looking for her. Melissa Hortman was assassinated in her home with her husband and dog…and now this. The left is the victim, not the perpetrator.

I'm Jewish. I'm also Mancunian.

Every other national party leader was interviewed by Laura Kunesberg during their conference.

Maybe the BBC thought as someone who also supports Palestine - I had nothing to say?

Could have been more ambitious on alignment with that reset agenda last year and achieved better growth numbers.

But then that's this government's hokey cokey, one step to the right, one step to the left.

Well, the UK doesn't like its own export strengths, so no surprise the political parties don't like their own voters. All part of the transition from traditional economic models that is now over 40 years in the making and still denied.

On the morning of Keir Starmer's conference speech here's a new post on an odd psychopathology in British politics - our main parties don't like the people who vote for them - the dreaded Professional Managerial Class. And so they are acting out like a divorced dad seeking cooler voters. 1/n

The Primary Energy Fallacy is the idea that all primary energy from fossil fuels must be replaced with equivalent amount of clean energy.

BUT: Not necessary because >2/3 of all primary energy is lost as waste heat.

Electrification+renewables are far more efficient.

Leaving the ECHR would hand Putin a huge victory.

Those who advocate doing so are colluding with an enemy of our country.

They are traitors.

Monthly disposable income fell by £40 per person under the tories. The first time in British history that disposable income has reduced over a parliamentary term.

In the first 6 months under Labour, disposable income rose by £55, a larger increase than under any other government in the same period.

Anyone can have a mad moment in an interview (I certainly have) but this speaks to some recurring problems with Badenoch:
- her lack of basic prep;
- her amazing ability to walk into lamp-posts;
- the patronising manner, even when wrong;
- & a consistent failure to think seriously about Brexit & NI.

Yet his supporters continue to present the lie that he has always stood on the right side of history.”

He SO has not.

While today he presents himself as the defender of Palestinians under Israeli bombardment, the Russian intervention in Syria was supported by Labour’s former leader Jeremy Corbyn, and his director of communications Seamus Milne.

This is why Syrians continue to despise him.

On this day 10 years ago, Russia entered the Syrian civil war on behalf of the Assad regime, devastating infrastructure, displacing millions and murdering thousands of Syrian civilians.

Despite all of these widespread crimes, Moscow and Assad would go on to lose.

The paradox of tolerance is real, and the intolerant far right hate that the left are intolerant of them. So it works.

I tell the far right that they are toxic in the workplace and entirely unemployable - a fact they can’t argue with.

That’s probably the very last application that’s going to be suitable for green hydrogen. Green hydrogen has a target price, $1 per kg, which is both achievable and makes it cheaper than the methane-derived hydrogen used in concrete and fertiliser production as well as in refineries to produce fuels
