It's interesting how easy it is for people to look at someone *wildly* succeeding at a horrific goal, and continue acting as if they are failing at a very different goal which they have repeatedly and loudly declared they do not have.

Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

Það er nú bara ágætt að þetta lið skelli í framboð, kroppi smá af Miðflokknum og sýni fram á svart á hvítu hvað það er lítil eftirspurn eftir þeim. Af því ég hef litla á því að þetta nái árangri. Já mér finnst það góð stefna að fólk vinni minna og sé meira með börnunum en það þarf þá að gerast í gegnum eitthvað meira en leikskólakerfið. Það kemur ekkert endilega meiri sveigjanleiki á vinnumarkaðnum ef leikskólarnir verða ósveigjanlegri.

Kópavogur hækkaði almenna gjaldið verulega samhliða sínum breytingum til að eiginlega þvinga fólk til að taka styttri daga. Mér sýnist það ekki vera lagt til þarna og svo er þetta bundið við föstudaga. Aðeins öðruvísi svona fljótt á litið.

Einmitt. Það er náttúrulega meira mark takandi á því sem bæjarstjórinn hefur heyrt en á því sem fram kemur hjá viðmælendum í þessari rannsókn. Getur ekki verið að það sé nein skekkja í því hverjir tala við hana, það er fullkomlega slembivalið úrtak.

Væntingar fólks eru eins og þetta sé þjónusta sem það á rétt á og sveitarfélög láta þannig líka, gefa sig gjarnan út fyrir að vilja gera sem allra best. En auðvitað er þetta annað sem væri bara heiðarlegra, að lögbinda þessa þjónustu í samræmi við þessar væntingar og loforð.
