Today’s immigration situation of many embedded families is basically a Republican setup over decades. Refusing to support “comprehensive immigration reform”, Repubs knew farmers and businesses, large and small, were $profiting$ from low paid undocumented immigrants, so no effort for reform.

In 2010, who fought Obamacare health insurance the most? Small business, farmers, entrepreneurs, rural people. They now make up well over half of the enrollees. Who is suffering from Trump/Republican cuts to ACA subsidies? Same people. Are we surprised? No.

What is the Democratic action plan for “affordability?” Spoiler: grocery and consumer companies set their own prices according to their own interests, not peoples’ interests or Dem criticism. Corporations drive health prices. Asset funds drive the price of rent. Etc. What to do? Got a plan Dems?

Where is the Democratic Project 2026/2028? Does Democratic leadership have even the remotest idea of a set of actions moving power from the oligarchy to "we, the people?" What is the Democratic program for healthcare, taxes, climate, immigration, etc.? Nowhere to be seen. Trump bashing is too easy.

Utter hypocrisy: Rand Paul saying he doesn't want healthcare subsidies renewed as he doesn't want to give money to wealthy people and corporations is absurd coming from another Republican who voted for enormous tax breaks for wealthy people and corporations.

Re Gerrymanders: Art 4, Sec 4 of the Constitution says “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government”. Republican government is defined as a representative democracy. A gerrymander exactly defines an unrepresentative democracy. Hello, Supreme Court?

Smart for Mamdani to make campaign promises in areas that he has control, rent, buses, day care and community grocery stores. But generally bringing prices down? Unlikely. Companies set their own prices based their own self interest: profit. No corporate price control boards in government (yet).

Conservatives: Chained to the past, walking backwards into the future, looking fearfully over their shoulders to detect any kind of changes, making decisions about the present only on the basis of beliefs and attitudes of the past, often the far past.

The H1-B visa upset brings up the perennial question: why did MAGA people and Trump voters ever think that millionaires and billionaires cared at all about their lives? Average people are simply commodities or targets to them.

Both Trump and Senate Republicans are slamming Obamacare because of the huge profiting by the private health insurance corporations. Obvious solution is to eliminate profit in health insurance, one of the basic ideas of Bernie Sanders' Medicare For All, which apparently Republicans now support. 👏

The refusal by Trump to fund SNAP food benefits during the shutdown is just another example of the old saying that “for Republicans, cruelty is the point.” Notably the cruelty here is largely directed at their own supporters, as white Republicans are probably the largest group of SNAP recipients.

When Trump says things like "There could be firings, and that’s their fault”, referring to Democrats in Congress, doesn't it remind you of the abuser saying to their partner "You made me hit you"? It's getting ugly.
