Maybe I was naive in thinking I'd get a job in radio, but fuck it, I enjoyed my degree.

Also the life experience I got when I went away was so valuable.

For YEARS I told people I didn't go to uni because of what I studied because I was always told they were Mickey Mouse subjects and I'd rather say I didn't have a degree than have the piss taken out of me for what I studied. And anyway, why can't you study something just for you?

I did theatre and media at uni. It got me into the whys and wherefores of how things are made, how shots are set up, how to critique, it got me into European cinema, because of my studying that, I have a radio show and podcast.

Tim is right, all parties want to ditch humanities subjects.

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.
