Seems like we need to continue to give the city feedback as they experiment with other types of bike lane separation

I've not been in a place where these are used so I don't know first hand how well they will repel very determined Boston drivers (example from today)

Absolutely. It's a continuum between those different poles though. Knowing exactly that your bus won't come for over 30 minutes means you call a ride share car and don't use public transit

If you're improving public transit the order I would prioritize:
1) frequent
2) fast
3) cost (e.g. fare free)
