I love JRPGs with all of my being!
I talk about them here, as well as other Video Games and occasionally other bits of media, and probably repost lots of things I like!
Breath of Fire
SaGa
Atelier
Suikoden
I really wanted to include Chrono, but it has three games, one is a visual novel, and as much as I love Cross it also makes upset in equal measure.

Holy crap, only 4?!
Right then, there's a whole lot of choices on my end, but here are some of the big ones for me.

I don't care how 'classy' lobster or caviar is, I hate how it tastes.

I'd argue that Ehrgeiz might deserve it but is still fun, and Koudelka is flawed but stands above its own shortcomings with some of the best character writing I've seen in any JRPG.
The other two are just stellar to me.

That said, there's several that aren't selected I just didn't get far in. A lot of Anime bounces right off of me. The ones I enjoy, I love, but most of those are too old to be here.

Really though, it might not feel like Final Fantasy to me, but it still feels really good.

JRPGs are my favorite genre, this one isn't fair.
...Suikoden though, after careful consideration. No -Setting- in a game has enthralled me in the deeper history and political connections of the world quite like this series.
Eiyuden did not come close in that regard.

What I want to know is, with Square so in on Action RPGs, where the fuck is our Brave Fencer Musashi remaster?

Romancing SaGa 3. This one is a bit of an oddity- it's easily my least favorite SaGa title, barring maybe the original SaGa 3, which I haven't finished and was made by different people anyway.
I feel like a Remake in the style RS2 got received might help.

Day 4: Currently Playing
Mega Man Battle Network 2. I'm firmly more a fan of...almost any other part of the franchise, but this unhinged game was very fun until it wasn't.
This end game is suffering.

Atelier Superbosses take the cake. There's a lot of well designed, challenging boss fights out there.
The Superbosses in the Atelier Games are not that. Pictured image is my worst experience in that regard, despite being my favorite in the series.

It's almost certainly Chrono Trigger for the SNES. I don't have an exact count but the number of times I've played it to completion before my 20s is in the dozens at least.
Not *as* insane as it sounds- it's a very short RPG.

Day 1 is "Your First Video Game"
I would never recommend it now but seeing those characters move really was magical to me.

Day 1: Battle Arena Toshinden for the Playstation 1.
It was a mediocre fighting game, but the colorful characters captured my imagination and got me hooked. One of the first fully 3D fighters, it definitely set the stage for better games
