I really had to sit with the ending of I SAW THE TV GLOW for a few days to accept it — but even before I left the theater afterward, I already knew I wanted to write this piece about what I think director Jane Schoenbrun is saying. Or more to the point, demanding.
I Saw the TV Glow is a powerful call to action — any action
The ending of this movie is more than it appears

Fulci is up there with Argento in pure vibes horror filmmaking. Something in his visuals aims right at the subconscious and nails the target.

Really interested to see if that Xbox handheld is a thing. No spoilers. I want to be delighted/crestfallen at showtime.

Is Fright Night (1985) a perfect vampire movie?

(Rhetorical question. Of course it is)

Great alternative. been on that for years, too, and can second this recommendation. Most Adobe plugins work, too.
Yeah. I use Affinity now (and have for years). No subscription model. No surveillance. And it opens Adobe files. In case you wanted to give Adobe the finger.
For anyone who uses Photoshop or other Adobe products, here's some fun news about the TOS update. "Adobe Photoshop's New Terms of Service Demands the Right to Access Your Work"

Still on my killer critter kick. Sting is pretty good Aussie mutant spider horror fun. Some nice emotional work with the characters highlights a movie that never goes quite as far as I wanted.

the wild thing about FIRST BLOOD is that at no point does the movie stop to try to explain why these cops hate this random vet so much. it’s just like “listen, you get it, cops fucking suck.”

Under Paris isn't exactly a good movie, but it has its moments. Maybe Xavier Gens's best movie?

My cat has decided it is time for me to wake up.

Hope everyone has a great day and that you make, read, or watch something spooky!

We have to come together as a species and demand that no more "The Nun" movies be made.

Let's begin with the books. Almost wrapped up with Boys in the Valley by Phillip Fracassi. Holy Hell (literally) is that a page-turner. Brutal and heartfelt and grisly and thrilling. Also, nice and tight prose. My first Fracassi, but hardly the last.
