You think my lock's company would sponsor a replacement if I shared in social media how the thief gave up 3/4th of the way cutting through and went for the cable lock on the bike next to mine instead?

That's one small step for [mesh], one giant leap for [road].

Procedural intersections are officially in progress, major kudos to Picorims for the work thus far on this feature! #godot #procgen #gamedev

Hey all ye #godot Road Generator addon users - if you see this and you use the addon, please drop a reply with the version of Godot you're using (or join the poll in the community #coding channel itself to vote there).

Another one bites the dust, this one has really hampered the ability to make procedural placements along roads. No longer!

#godot road generator, some testing tomorrow before merging and finally cutting the next release.

Officially at the stage of tutorial-driven-development for QoL improvements. Meaning, as I check how tutorial-worthy the current code is, I find and stamp out the awkward steps. Just here, a tweak to make it much easier to make bridge sections on the fly #godot #road #bridges

Dang this took me awhile, but was an important issue to fix before the official release of the Terrain3D support for the #godot Road Generator addon.

To be merged shortly:

This is a pretty wild graph.

Currently watching through Fads' latest video, who points out it's a pretty global situation

You know, it's been quite a while since I've posted a tutorial - got this one ready just in time for you all

Final result: Roads can now have UV'd undersides, useful for bridges. Fully interpolates between individual RoadPoints, including to an "off" mode, but defaults to parents so you can assign for the parent road container or overall system.

Also seeing this now in practice, I'm quickly converted #godot #gdscript

It feels messy imo without the dashed rows, and helps accomplish a same visual clue in external editors where collapsing using the region keyword doesn't work.

UVs on the top don't need to line up since that's going to be a different, non-trimsheet material anyways. But the underside should be continuous. #godot #road #addon

Working on seamless UV mapping for for the new manifold thickness feature a community member recently worked on. Super handy being able to tweak in the viewport and live edit the code without restarting the scene/editor.

Also just now saw I need to flip the direction on the reverse wall ha whoops

Do those people not understand ranked choice voting....? I guess they realize they need to manipulate the image of whichever they consolidate onto to be even remotely attractive to voters.

So far #SIGGRAPH has been a blast! And Blender got a niiiice booth this year, logo top right peaks out when you enter the exhibit hall too. Will share insights later as I've got 'em

You know how Colbert's show was being cancelled for "financial reasons"? It's all to do with this Paramount merger *explicitly* trying to turn eg CBS into explicit propaganda - I too did not hear about Larry Ellison quietly becoming 2nd richest man alive.

Now how's *this* for nice and smooth update for this #godot #plugin system combining #roads and #terrain

Still need to change it so it only commits a single operation after transforming the road, so won't be as dynamic as pictured here. But still, should feel pretty slick and responsive.

After a hiatus, finally got road-terrain cookin. This is an improved WIP integration between the #godot Road Generator and #Terrain3D - wild it takes a mere 200 lines of code to connect these two plugins together.

Extra margin/smoothing options in progress. Redo/undo ...we'll see 😅

Just now ages realized ages later, I must have uploaded the gif using the "image" button. They really aught to merge all three and just handle it by extension

Anyhow, I present more visually this time: Alignment options in the #godot Road Generator! Find it in the asset library.

This is how I learned the bill passed. An email from a government agency address so-far only ever used for transactional purposes, with a "clever" reframing of the massive tax cuts to the richest as though to all, of course with no mention to all medical / food / other services slashed + debt added.

One of the fun new features of the open source #godot road generator: alignment options! There are use cases for both, giving you more control of how you author your roads.

This #godot road generator feature worked out just as I had hoped!

It's now easy to export a single "RoadContainer" glb, with a nifty option to auto-instance it back in place. So you just need to edit/overwrite the glb file via #blender / some dcc to update your scene

Was about time, but finally got to make use of all the goodie built in documentation generation features in Godot 4 - this will hopefully make it much easier to jump in and start using the #godot Road Generator addon! #gamedev #plugin #addon
