Rise of the Zilart finished. This was incredibly short but I really enjoyed the worldbuilding and lore. I wish Kam'lanaut and Eald'narche had been more fleshed out. Some pacing problems again, I think.
I hear that Chains of Promathia is where FFXI's storytelling really takes off so i'm excited.

And that's Bastok finished. I felt these missions suffered from rushed pacing, and trying to fit in too many narratives, leading to unsatisfying conclusions, and a very anticlimactic end to the overall story. I see why people say this is weakest of FFXI's nation stories.

Finished the San d'Oria missions this morning, leaving only Bastok to go.
Overall I found it a less consistent experience than Windurst, however, the final few ranks of the story and it's reveals were excellent.
I found this last quote very poignant, not just for San D'oria, but FFXI as a whole.

"we USE ai, but our game wont CONTAIN it" is a clarification that no one has ever cared about & now CEOs are using it as a wedge to get their foot in the door as a part of a long term plan into normalizing AI, just like how 'it's just placeholder' was used with E33. dont cede even an inch of ground
