We 100% support Mr.Stancil and his take on “OPSEC”. We want our marchers to be out and visible. To be proud when they march and to share their happy smiling faces 🙂
“Opsec” as understood on the movement left invariably means “taking efforts to remain anonymous and ensure no one can see what you’re saying and who you are.” But these efforts are illusory and completely corrosive to the goal of public resistance and open organizing.
Hi Will - apologies if you've addressed this in detail previously, but is your criticism of opsec primarily about protesters not wanting to be filmed, the use of certain tools giving them a false sense of security, or something else?

We and our sister organization are as real as can get. We are gross roots activists looking out for those above us.

We and our sister organization are as real as can get. We are gross roots activists looking out for those above us.
Many people ask us “what are the ultra wealthy like?” “What do they smell like, taste like etc etc”.
We are unsure why we get these questions but many smell no different from you or I, primarily of honeysuckle and brimstone. 🙂

the thing that makes angry young men in the fringe left not that different from angry young men who sign up for government paramilitaries is that they both have only a thin smattering of ideology, and mostly have decided to seek out an institution that will give them permission to commit violence
