A friend of mine's elderly dog took a new chew bone, walked to his kennel, and passed away shortly afterward.

I'm brokenhearted for them, but sixteen years for a big dog is quite an extraordinary life. And he died, happy and warm in his den, with a snack under his chin.

May we all be so lucky.

Just to restate this very clearly: the fossil fuel industry isn't a normal business. They are powerful enough to draw subsidies and other forms of gov't intervention for otherwise unprofitable ventures.

They are just absurdly good at this.
