It was so wonderful to go back to FNM and play Mavic again. I get to indulge my hobbies after a month and a half.

And with Chess Story done, I have read 74 new books this year. From romantic trash to sci-fi epics to turn of the century weird fiction to narrative history non-fiction to literary classic I failed to read in college twice.

I opened this app and this was thr first thing I saw. I knew because of this and how social media now works. For a second I hoped he won something like that time with Bob Dylan and the Nobel, but no.
The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

To everyone who made fun of Hallmark movies where the woman leaves a six figure investment job for a guy who runs a Christmas tree farm, now you feel stupid, don't you.
Fox tells Americans to buy artificial trees so Christmas tree farms can be used for data centers:

So all the talk about loose women stealing their money or about blues singers leaving sometimes is less an observation of Black life under Jim Crowe but attacks on their bosses. Frequently sounds operate on both valences.

The Scorsese documentary about the Blues is not a very good introduction to it, but in what I watched there was this in retrospect obvious but startling to me observation: When old blues singers talk about women, they are frequently talking in code about the white plantation owners.

Is it the game awards tonight? Well I won't be watching. I'll be eating some homemade soup and catching any sleep I can before work.

Last week's paycheck came in on the system. The taxes I paid innit were larger than my usual weekly pay. Almost makes the 75+ work hours and 3 and half hours of sleep a night worth it.

Everytime I make a stop with a cart full of boxes, I take one and carry it in before returning for the next in a continual pathfinding cycle of manuel labor. Back and forth, back and forth until the pile is depleted and all I can think to myself is: "Zug Zug."
