Starting near 30% on my current read. Determined to get to at least 60% before bedtime. 🤞🏻

I'm near 22% into my current read and so bored. Why do I need all this backstory for this couple to get their freak on?

FMC has the yips & is a sub. MMC is a dom. That's all the info I needed to realize where the story's going & how it'll help. Why does there need to be five million other things?

It's going to drive me insane that I had an idea for a new project earlier today, but wasn't able to jot it down, and now I can't remember it.

I was wondering what book to read after I finish my current read tonight, but Libby beat me to it and decided for me. 😄

I've been doing some reorganizing lately, and in doing so, finding a lot of books I don't remember buying. 😅

No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.

Making plans to meet online friends in-person for the first time is terrifying. 😰 It's a combination of my social anxiety and having consumed too much true crime media.

Overall I prefer third person pov, but depending on what genre I'm reading in, I can and do enjoy some first person pov. The tense doesn't matter as much to me as long as it's consistent.

Do you have a preferred pov and tense while reading (i.e. first person past, third person present, etc.)?

I need noise, but it can't be distracting. So a show I've watched a lot, a twitch stream, music, or my usual go-to, Spirit City Lofi Sessions (which I also use for writing).

This or that: Would you rather read with background noise or in complete silence?

I'm able to read daily because I make the time to do so. Either dedicating time for reading, or fitting it in between other chores / activities. How long I read for and what medium is what differs.

How frequently are you able to read? To those with less time, what are ways you ensure you still get quality bookish time?

Horror & mystery are my comfort genres. I love the thrills & chills I experience from horror. Then I love trying to solve the mystery before the MC does. While not a genre, I also read a lot of middle grade as a way to support authors & their books that are being challenged more often these days.

They are not the same.

I rarely get quickly approved for ARCs on NetGalley, so I figured putting in requests for books releasing 4+ months from now would be okay for my sanity. 8/13 of them are approved already. 👀
