JD Vance being so afraid of diversity is such bizarre pandering to terrified suburbanites. Besides exposing how empty he is, it is also so lame. You aren't automatically a good neighbor because you look or sound alike, you become good a neighbor because you want to be one.
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

As someone who has lived my whole adult life in cities deemed “dangerous”—NYC, NOLA, and SF—I think a lot about how dense cities require patience, calm, and tolerance in the midst of social difference, which are of course exactly the civic virtues that the right resents being told to cultivate.
