Finished up my Solo, and about to finish up my 2-player, 15x10 challenges (play 15 board games 10 times each) a good bit early this year.

Might blab about those 30 games I played here or somewhere. There were some bangers.

I'm very out on Magic anymore. And doubly so on official WotC communications/collabs.

But Jet Lag the Game is awesome and this was fantastic.

Remember, if r/FreeMagic ever posts and celebrates you as "Based <ContentCreatorNameHere> you've messed up somewhere along the line.

Draft & Write Records is so dang good. May be my favourite roll/flip/draft and write? Or at least favourite non-super-heavy one (looking at you Hadrian's Wall and Twilight Inscription)

Here are some things that Charlie Kirk said in his life.

The man is dead, and so it only seems fair to share his legacy by cataloguing the values he spread while alive.

Update on Slay the Spire the Board Game solo play: it might be the worst solo game I've played this year. It was originally designed to be multiplayer and it really shows.

It is *brutally* difficult and random in a way that just doesn't feel good in a board game. Multiplayer apparently fixes this.

Finding the Slay the Spire boardgame quite difficult solo (this is a known issue it seems), but boy is it wild how much worse the BGG forum posts are for this game vs any other solo game. So much "git gud" "game's not for you" toxic gamer BS. Plus a healthy dose of advice based on very low % chances

Incredible University Challenge final tonight. Most exciting I've seen.

Elections Canada's website being down for over and hour while polls are still open needs to be investigated to hell and back. It's never been an issue before, so what's the source this time? Something totally benign I bet...

Sure, yeah, not getting the Marvel rights for digital was **definitely** something totally out of WotC's control and was just big, bad, mean Disney and not WotC just saving money on licensing for a platform that drove 1% of their revenue increase... 🙄
April 24, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Remember, if it's critical of WotC it's a conspiracy theory. If it cuts WotC some slack or puts the blame one someone else, it's clearly the truth.

Magic discourse is worse than I remember, just in a different way 😂

Played Magic for the first time in 5 months. Damn, limited is real bad.

So he's moved from we should be the 51st state to we're "MEANT" to be it...

Not sure how much longer these alarm bells need to be rung...
INGRAHAM: You're tougher with Canada than you are with our biggest adversaries. Why?

TRUMP: Only because it's meant to be our 51st state. One of the nastiest countries to deal with is Canada.

The best time to plant a tree is 8 years ago. The second best time is now.

Ditto for an American revolution, just sayin...

Everything is in place for ya'll to invade my county and I'm not terribly cool with that.

I look forward to boots on the ground, parts of my country being ceded, Canadians and Americans being actively killed, and people STILL acting like it's all a funny little joke or some negotiation tactic.

Generational damage has been done to our relationship.

Sure am a fan of the states bordering my province entering a state of emergency to prepare to "do what needs to be done."

Not at all concerning. Nope. Not at all.

It’s always exhausting when the entire nation of Canada is thrust onto the international stage like we have been these past few weeks.

I obviously don’t speak for all Canadians, but I’m damn proud to be Canadian (with a few exceptions of course) but I do enjoy how we normally fly under the radar.

Just need to be crystal clear for any Americans who don't get it yet (and you're having your own issues, I get it).

We're not having a friendly rivalry. We're not thinking "tee hee Trump sure is bad eh?"

We're wondering if/when the bombs are going to start dropping on us.

Step one complete. Now we burn down the White House again.

If you're wondering why we're not respecting the war song of a nation aggressively implying they plan to take us over, I invite you to read this sentence again.

So...nobody checks things like this before they go to print anymore eh?

Boy took a look at Magic's (the entire game category) viewership stats for the first time in a long time and it's officially returned to about pre-Arena-era levels of viewership.

Makes me not feel as bad for not feeling like Magic content is worthwhile anymore 😅

I’m not a publisher, but I think it’s vital, now more than ever, to stand up and affirm again: trans rights are human rights. And punch nazis, to boot. My heart goes out to everyone in the US living in fear right now - but standing together, and standing up for each other, is crucial
Wanna know what would be sick?

If boardgame publishers publicly stated “trans rights are human rights”

I want to see which publishers I should avoid working with
