Recently, Thea Grattidge, Luke Sheldon and Claire Wiles from our Housing team contributed to the new guidance published by Impact on Urban Health: “Meeting the needs of neurodivergent children living in temporary accommodation.”

I'm really pleased to see this guidance published. It should enable better dialogues between housing officers and families with neurodivergent children experiencing homelessness. If you want to know more about this & other child health and housing work, get in touch @impurbanhealth.bsky.social
It's estimated that 1 in 7 children is neurodivergent.

With latest data showing over 170,000 young people are now living in temporary housing, that means a minimum of 25,000 children stuck in an insecure, unsuitable home 🏠

True that. Film photography is a fantastic hobby. More recently, I've been learning the mechanics and science of it but this approach is much more fun.
(I basically love film photography as a hobby specifically because I think you can get better at it purely through practice - I've always v actively refuse to *learn* anything about it despite having been doing it for over a decade; it's been great for my brain!)

Outstanding piece from @billmckibben.bsky.social today that gives hope that we have the technology and the means to stop fighting over oil.

After the latest round of grading papers, I wrote about AI, ChatGPT, the death of the student essay, and what it means for the future of human cognition.
The Death of the Student Essay—and the Future of Cognition
One professor's reflections on the end of an era, as AI tools such as ChatGPT have murdered the student essay (RIP). Here's why that threatens the future of human cognition—and how to save ourselves.

Something I've always thought about Facebook, Instagram and more latterly, Whatsapp. I don't think Zuckerberg or anyone at Meta actually understand people? Like on a fundamental level, their products suggest they don't know what human connection actually is
I genuinely think the role of Meta specifically in driving loneliness is underrated. Facebook replaced existing ways of keeping up with friends with what was briefly a great product, then destroyed that product.
Bit mad that "website that shows you nice pictures of what your friends are up to" is something Meta increasingly refuses to provide. Stories the last vestige of it

We’ve been working with partners to understand the scale of the problem and identify potential solutions.
