I do think some people really are weirdly ignoring the whole “LLMs can’t go out into the world and collect information that a human hasn’t already recorded and put on the internet” thing

The models can develop all they want to but *they can’t go out into the world and collect new information*.

There’s this weird “I am only aware of the things that have already been digitized or were natively digital and therefore all the information in the world is either already digitized or was natively digital” feedback loop happening among the people directing tech
