The problem is that nowadays too many people do it because they can, gentrify those places and chase locals away by making housing unaffordable for them. Look at the situation in Lisbon, for example. What is low for you with a salary from the US isn’t nearly as low for someone with an Italian salary

I think it’s quite difficult to establish a balance between protecting kids from their parents’ manipulation and protecting them from potential manipulation in their schools because you never know when the government is turning into a dictatorship and imposes propaganda on school curricula

As a middle child, you get the least attention of all because your parents are too busy with the other siblings 😅 can also be really nice, you have more freedom
