Using this to give a PSA: 3DS carts not being read are likely because of solder joints being stressed. It happens most often with Pokemon carts (usually Gen6/ORAS) but any game is susceptible
You can reflow and resuscitate them if you have the tools and know-how

I think its a valuable thing to remind people of things you like about them and that you care. An I love you or an I miss you is good but its also easy.
