People say we can’t regulate Iowa agriculture bc it’s too complex all the while every farm raises the same two plants within 3 degrees of latitude and 4 degrees of longitude

10k cars per day go through Iowa City on I 80 but somehow we manage to regulate their speed, emissions, safety and who gets to drive them

Another example of a failed voluntary approach relying on subsidies w/ poor accountability. Historically, this has been the bipartisan norm in US agri-env’l policy. The difference is that now a vehemently anti-science kakistocracy is in charge so even these greenwashing efforts are being dismantled.
