Any one of us could be in the next apartment building that ICE raids in the middle of the night.

Any one of us could be on the next boat that Trump bombs on a whim.

Any one of us could be detained for hours despite being a U.S. citizen.

Authoritarianism hurts all of us.

If a man personally implicated in war crimes can remain atop the Pentagon, why would he stand by and risk his freedom should Vance (or Trump again) lose the 2028 election?

And unless Bradley sees the inside of a brig, the message to USSOCOM's chain of command is that no action is impermissible.
Pete Hegseth And Adm. Mitch Bradley Belong In Prison
The South American boat strikes are plainly murders. Now we have the names of the murderers. Do we have the political will to lock them up?

Another 2 things are true: asylum seekers undergo years of intense screening before being allowed to come to America, and one individual’s violent actions don’t invalidate that.
These two things are true:
1) Shooting National Guard members is horrific and criminal.
2) So is putting National Guard members in harm’s way to score political points.

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Hanging out with MBS this week really emboldened his already extremely bold and explicit dictator tendencies
When a sitting president calls for death to lawmakers, it’s not a warning sign, it’s the emergency siren. He is talking like a dictator and telling you exactly how he plans to use his power.

This is how democracies fall and how dictatorships begin.

episode 1 of "pluribus" was much more disturbing than i expected and i am here for it. vince gilligan's cinematography/humor with rhea seehorn's nuance are an iconic duo. it makes me wonder about how countries more based on collectivism (v. american individualism) depict hive minds in their sci fi.
