You know, some significant proportion of them, you can see the lights in the attic turn on for the first time, and it must be incredibly disorienting to have that experience in that context and environment.

So I frequently have to give a sort of Intro to Theory of Mind right in the middle of my first real meeting with a client, in the jail conference room, and I sometimes wonder what it's like for them.

I run into this a lot dealing with my clients.

They do not understand that other people genuinely disagree with them about the facts (they are not lying or corrupt) and that those people may also be making decisions with different incentives (those other people are not being stupid!)

Oh, I'm currently grinding my way through the extended editions. That takes a while, I can't really get through an entire one in an evening.

I did this to stave off the powerful urge I was experiencing to buy into the Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. It may make that worse, unfortunately.

For me at least, coffee + miniatures are definitely a start to a day getting better. It's the first thing I do most Saturdays, since I'm already a little mad that I woke up.
