Lot of people confidently missing the point in the replies to this: if every cent of Elon musks net wealth was liquid, which it isn’t, that’s not even enough money to run the govt for two weeks. The problem less that they have money, and more how they use that money in destabilizing ways.

“The problem with billionaires isn’t that they’re hoarding money that would otherwise pay for a Scandinavian social utopia. It’s that their money has become a source of wildly distorted political power that allows a few men with extremist views to wreak havoc on the rest of us.”

I'm sure you have the much more credible opinions of an editor and other early readers, and don't need to hear it from fans. But I am three chapters in and this book is much, much better than most game fiction. I expect to be recommending it pretty vociferously. Well done.

Expect to see me banging the Die-drum a bunch across the next week. You need to get your orders in a week on Monday. It doesn't even need to be formal - talk about the books you like to the retailer, and it effects their orders. Now back to making marketing material.

He also made Deer Woman, an episode of Masters of Horror that I think you would get a kick out of.

His son is also a POS and made Dirk Gently, an absolutely fantastic TV series.

This is a terrible situation for an extremely smol detective.

I think I did something like this in an old D&D campaign. You could get an initiative bonus by skipping the reaction roll.

The trump administration has been murdering people off the coast of Venezuela. This is not a small technical thing or an abstract constitutional testing of the war powers. Even if everyone on the boats were exactly who the Trump admin says they are they aren't enemy combatants, just criminals.

Trump has been illegally bombing boats off the coast of Venezuela.

Tim Kaine and Adam Schiff forced a vote on reasserting Congress's role over war powers and ending this reckless
warmongering.

It failed 48-51.

Murkowski and Paul voted yes.

Fetterman voted no.

incredibly, bleakly funny that trump is going after christopher wray, who spent his entire tenure at the fbi with his head down desperately trying to avoid trump's attention and did nothing to protect the bureau from trump's attacks www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
Other prosecutors are investigating former CIA director John Brennan, another prominent Trump critic, and former FBI director Christopher Wray, who was originally appointed by Trump but enraged conservatives who came to believe he had wielded the bureau’s powers against them. Former officials have received subpoenas in recent days in the Wray inquiry, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.

The literal reading of this statement is Pam Bondi is planning extrajudicial executions of random protesters.

My gosh. After the US bombed multiple boats in the middle of the ocean, murdering people on grounds that they were allegedly "carrying drugs," the US Attorney General says "Just like we did with cartels, we're going to take the same approach, President Trump, with Antifa."

OK. It's going to be coming out soon because of the relentless investigations of Pam Bondi and Kash Patel, so I might as well admit it before the news breaks:

I am the General Counsel of Antifa.

The inmate sued. Except at the time he was required to file his suit on a form that allowed only 3 pages of text plus 12 lines.
At the time, the Middle District required pro
se prisoners bringing civil rights claims to file their actions
using a specific, court-issued complaint form. That document,
entitled “FORM TO BE USED BY A PRISONER IN FILING
A CIVIL RIGHTS COMPLAINT IN THE UNITED STATES
DISTRICT COURT FOR THE MIDDLE DISTRICT OF
PENNSYLVANIA,” directed the filer, under the “statement of
claim” section, to “[d]escribe how each defendant is involved,
including dates and places,” and to do so “as briefly as
possible.” App. 33, 36. And by “briefly,” it meant within the
twelve lines provided, or, if prisoners needed to say more, they
could “[a]ttach no more than three extra sheets.” Id. at 36.
Montanez complied, filling out all twelve lines and writing out
exactly three additional pages of allegations.

Yeah ... The version in the prequel books is dumb.

The encyclopedia version is that it was about the locus of power and decision making. If that power is in a server, it belongs to whoever controls and programs that server.

The jihad side probably started out with much more reasonable demands.

The entry in the Dune encyclopedia is fairly interesting stuff.

And compelling, in our present Circumstances.

Jeffries says Dems "have made clear privately and publicly" to Mike Johnson that Rep.-elect Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) must be sworn in.

"Why the delay?" he asks. "Does it have anything to do with Republicans continuing effort to hide the Epstein files from the American people?"

Johnson: "He has defunded our education system. He has defunded our transportation system. He's firing black women across this country. He's defunding our healthcare system. This president is absolutely out of control... Chicago is going to stand firm in protecting humanity."
