Some of my former advisees have been employees of CDC and WHO. There is no benefits to preventing these scientists from jointly conducting research and publishing their findings. This decision will only hinder discovery, transparency, and health promotion.
NEW:
“CDC staff should not be co-authors on manuscripts/abstracts with WHO staff,” nor publish papers on work "funded by WHO."

From an interim guidance shared yesterday with the Influenza Division of CDC's National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.

Bird flu cases in cats connected to farm workers were recently reported by @cdcofficial.bsky.social, but farm workers declined testing. Prof @jennifernuzzo.bsky.social says they must feel safe to be tested.

"People should not fear that testing positive will cause financial distress.”

But the study, whose publication was delayed by a pause in public communications by the agency, leaves key questions unanswered.

With the citrus harvest at peak, farm workers are hard at work in the Bakersfield, CA orchards.

Claims that farm workers are staying home simply are not true. There is anxiety around chaotic immigration sweeps, but they continue to feed America. #WeFeedYou
