24/7 1 GW Solar!

UAE broke ground on a 5.2 GWdc PV facility paired with 19 GWh of battery storage in Abu Dhabi in October 2025.

It’s world’s first GW-scale renewable project, engineered to deliver 1 GW of continuous, around-the-clock baseload power.

China crossed 50% (53.9%) penetration in EV heavy-duty truck sales — not cars or buses: heavy freight, the brutally economic transport segment. 2025 sales hit 231,100 units (+182% YoY); annual penetration jumped to 28.9% from 13.6% in 2024. Tipping point — diesel demand destruction accelerates. #LFP
Demand frontloading propels China's new energy heavy-duty truck penetration past 50% for 1st time
In December, China sold a record 45,300 new energy heavy-duty trucks, accounting for 53.89% of total heavy-duty truck sales of 84,000 units.

After a successful print it will be worth more than the one Trump has.

Europäer wüssten sehr gut wie neue Technologien einzusetzen sind, aber sind viel zu langsam in der Umsetzung.
China added more grid-scale #BESS in Dec 2025 than the US did all year. One month vs one year. That’s not competition—it’s industrial separation. Batteries are now infrastructure there: cheaper power, tougher grids, faster electrification. The West didn’t fall behind on tech—it stalled on execution.

I have heard of electric mining trucks that never need charging because they carry heavy loads downhill and then go back up light.

But now they are doing it with a 685 mile train journey. Amazing.
Fortescue Infinity Train gets 14.5 MWh battery that never needs charging [update]
Fortescue Infinity Train made its first 685 mile trip from Perth to the Pilbara, marking a major milestone in decarbonization.

Electric vehicles will end oil wars – if we let them
With the news of the US’ actions in Venezuela this morning, we are reminded again of how reducing oil demand can lead to less conflict – and electric vehicles are our best bet for doing so. more…

People say reality has a left-wing bias. No — reality has a facts bias. Physics doesn’t negotiate. Economics doesn’t care about ideology. Data doesn’t bend to narratives. Measure costs, energy, health, or climate and the same curves show up. You can argue — reality still collects. #Renewables #EVs

65% of voters say global heating is raising prices. What if Democrats talked about that, rather than future jobs, trusting science or "all of the above" energy policy?

The real story isn’t “renewables are cheaper” — we already knew that. An 82% renewable grid breaks marginal pricing. Once wind, solar + batteries dominate, fossil generators stop setting peak prices. Scarcity rents collapse. Volatility dies.
That’s the system shock incumbents fear — not ideology. ⚡🔋
Electricity generation costs would be a third lower with 82% renewable grid, CSIRO says
Modelling suggests main electricity market could run almost entirely on renewables without increase in generation cost by 2050

McKibben’s point is directionally right, even if simplified. Fossil fuels dominate global shipping ton-miles. Electrification + renewables don’t just cut CO₂ — they collapse fuel logistics chains. Energy becomes local. Trade shifts, ships don’t vanish — but power does.⚡ #disruption #EnergyTransition

Germany firmly enters large-scale BESS era with EnBW, Vattenfall and Enertrag project news
A trio of large-scale BESS announcements by major power firms of 700-800MWh capacity each in Germany show the country's energy storage market moving into the new era of scale.
