"I did not complete a customs declaration for frog embryos (for use in our lab’s research) in my luggage. [...] This would normally result in a warning or a fine. Instead, [...] I was sent to a detention center in Louisiana, where I have spent the past three months."

Happy to say our ultrasound paper is now out in Brain Stimulation
doi.org/10.1016/j.br...

We used cultured neurons to dissect mechanisms of ultrasonic neurostimulation.
Most surprising: even an extremely short (4µs) single low-intensity pulse can generate neuronal activity.

Illustration done for the first publication of my colleague Nicolas Zucker. He managed to measure heart and breathing rate by monitoring tissue motion in the brain using ultrasound, what a crazy idea ! #sciart 🐡 #scicomm 🧪 #neuroscience 🧠🫀🫁🤯
A non realistic illustration in which some researchers are working around a brain at least 5 times bigger than a human. They are positioning an ultrasound probe on the top to measure heart and breathing rate. We see literally, heart and lungs inside the brain.

🧠 Postdoc Position !
Join us in Paris to work on brain-machine interfaces (BMI) using functional ultrasound (fUS)! We're seeking a postdoc to further develop and validate fUS-based BMI with Caltech and Iconeus.
