I’m 50 pages into Shadow of the Torturer and can’t tell if the difficulty will be worthwhile or if it is just tedious with little payoff. I realized that it’s exactly analogous to video game masochists - some people find joy in difficulty. I, however, want really good payoff in difficulty.
