See, it's not that you were right and we were wrong, it's that "recent events have brought Trump’s governing style into sharper focus," in that Trump is doing the fascist things he repeatedly said he would do, the things everyone to our left said he would do, and we dismissed as hyperbole.

Tl;dr: There are no other "fixes" anymore. This presidency needs to end. Now. And the longer we pretend that this isn't the actual, prescribed, "normal" constitutional mechanism & process for times like this, the longer we're going to find ourselves here on the precipice of full authoritarianism.

We could go on & on. Yes, presidentialism was a grave mistake & it's a very dumb system. The problem, ultimately, is systemic, but it's also that people who swore oaths are cowards & aren't doing their damn jobs. And we, they, & the media don't want to talk about that, because it's painful to admit.

If he stopped everything today, he will still have violated the emoluments clause & monetized the presidency to the tune of billions since 2017. The <only> mechanism to "fix" that is impeachment & removal.
