Techie writer by day, friendly doomer by night (with a little drumming, bass, and horror movies to maintain sanity). Also happily married and a pet dad. If you think the covid pandemic is over, you probably won't like my posts.
Well said, but anti-DEI gained a foothold from the vast majority of people ignoring the ongoing pandemic (yes, we're still in one as per the WHO) and accepting normalization of eugenics as a tradeoff for "normalcy" (ie individual comfort).

Their beliefs and their goals were right out in the open. We should have known that they would attack all aspects of public health.

Good to know we're all on the same page.
Not great to know we're all in the same boat.

Public Health (EVERYWHERE) didn't just fail us—they are actively failing us, in real-time. As if Long COVID "just happens". As if it didn't still ruin lives.

This is unsustainable. So how do we correct it?
The flip-side: My son (m16) just left for a friend's (f17) house party & will be the only N95 there

No ventilation or testing
Because nobody sees the risk
He'll have to step out early
Will say it's to keep me safe
How is that fair?

This wouldn't be so hard if public health did it's FUCKING JOB
If you live with someone who has long Covid or a post-viral illness & you’re doing a weekly circuit of maskless bars, restaurants & concerts, you're not "living your life." You're sacrificing theirs

How about including masks as a layer? They eradicated a whole strain of flu in 2021.

Also public health: "Covid is over. LC is rare. We're post pandemic. Vax and relax.

We don't know why we've lost trust...?"
