Speaking ill of the dead is controversial, particularly when it was a violent death. It’s edgy; it’s sensitive; best avoided in most cases, etc.

Baselessly making another person’s murder *about yourself,* and then approving of it, is a different thing. That is delusional, narcissistic, sociopathic.

They want us to be appalled, because caring about rules of war and human lives and the law all mark us out as inferior to them in their sick worldview.
They’re killing people as a twitter joke. It’s depraved. Can’t let yourself lose the capacity to be appalled and disgusted and outraged by this.

It was yet another Trumpy Friday.

If you feel bad, it means you haven’t yet been broken. It means you still have a soul. Your moral core has not been breached.

Six months of Trumpism and you have a heart. It is, however, likely suffering moral injury.

“Forget about intelligence” is a pretty good mantra for this administration
Host: Are you saying the US did not see intelligence that the Supreme Leader had ordered weaponization?

Rubio: That’s irrelevant

Host: No, that's a key point

Rubio: No it’s not… Forget about intelligence

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

It’s hard arguing with folks who say “homeless people are all on drugs.”

Because on the one hand, it’s absolutely untrue.

But also, even if it were true… they would still all deserve housing and support.

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

See, this sort of take -- from one of the "good" Southern Baptist pastors -- is another reason the SBC can have no prophetic voice in the current moment.

Their commitment to Conservative Resurgence narrowing of what counts as "orthodoxy" outranks any commitment they might have to proclaiming truth.
