Snarky bicycle commuter in Silicon Valley...when I'm not traveling for work
I have coworkers that seem to have forgotten that they can go to a store and buy stuff instead of asking Alexa. It will be interesting to see what happens when Amazon replaces the rest of their neural pathways completely.

Entrepreneur idea: Create a business that follows behind OnTrac and puts the packages out of view for a fee. I can 100% guarantee that OnTrac will deliver the package prominently placed on top of a No Packages here sign wherever is most prominent to passersby, so no worries locating the package.

@realtimers.bsky.social wholeheartedly agree that the public has not been educated that taking a pill has an effect. I have been extremely picky about what I put in my body since my brother suffered a heart transplant rejection and a doctor told me "western medicine is robbing Peter to pay Paul"

This year I've been thinking, at least sports is real, a competition where the person or team that has worked the hardest or had the best team chemistry wins...and then you realize greed has corrupted literally everything in America:

On one hand, Republican officials call themselves "warfighters."

On the other, they become whiny crybabies at the thought of setting foot in DC streets and New York City subways that literal schoolchildren navigate every day without incident.

Real macho stuff.

The world would be better if we got rid of content prioritization algorithms. It isn't just about extremism it is causing, but taking away freedom. I feel less free to watch/listen/read content for fear of the algorithms presenting me with relentless streams of it.

I've been thinking about my legacy for the past week. I think I want to start a movement of leaving my estate to my pets, but put them in a shelter or rescue that doesn't know. Then congratulations if you adopt whatever pet I die with you get a windfall!

@realtimers.bsky.social how does someone get tickets to a taping? I've been a big fan of the show for like 22 years now, but I'm in LA near the Beverly Center because my brother died here 1 week ago. I'm here until the end of the Sunday, wandered around CBS this afternoon, still couldn't figure it out

Lazy people annoy me more than they should. Douche blocked my driveway for about 5 minutes with literally 4 parking spaces wide open that aren't blocking a driveway. How much extra effort is it to pull a car forward 10 feet? Maybe 0.01 calories?

-Laying around and still somehow accomplishing something
-Being able to act like you're better than other people

I think people underestimate how much sitting in cars takes a toll on their mental health. If I'm walking to the light rail station or riding my bike places, I feel happy. When I'm forced to travel by car I genuinely get depressed. Jail cells have more space than even the largest SUV.

Most days I hate the popularity of activewear (mostly because the reviews drive me crazy, if I'm buying something to workout, I don't care if it is comfortable for running errands). Until today, I forgot to pack pants, so I'm wearing bike pants with a dress shirt at work.

I've spent all but 4 weeks of Trump 2.0 outside of the U.S. It has only been this past week that the follow up question to "Where are you from?" went from "Where in America?" to "What do you think of your President?" Ugh it is going to be a long 4 years... Err, I hope only 4 years!

Several sources tell me a passel of high profile tech and also finance leaders is making a trip to Mar-a-Lago to read Trump the riot act — um talk common sense — to him on the tariffs. Their million dollar donations to the inauguration is turning into billions in losses.

This has to be the most short sighted thing this administration has done yet. I was a recipient of financial aid to get my degree. Because of my degree, I pay the amount of all grants combined in annually Federal taxes (and more) 20+ years later. apnews.com/article/educ...

Ozempic, Mounjaro and Wegovy may not be the lightbulb, jet airplane or internet, but their impact is expected to be so significant it could shift GDP.
