James Klüg- one of the participants- just insinuated that he was assaulted by “antifa” when in actuality he was hit by a right wing extremist named Aaron Simmons- who was prosecuted for his actions in Los Angeles. He knows it and acquiesced to it on Twitter at the time. Unreal.

It appears the man who assaulted me earlier was friends with the right wing organizer of the Wi Spa demonstration.

Yesterday brought news that country star Zach Bryan is dropping a song critical of ICE.

Today, the official DHS account trolls him by using one of his songs (without permission, one strongly presumes) over the kind of cinematic footage Trump loves, of masked federal agents clashing with Americans.

Let’s unpack this. Stone regularly bragged about having security provided by the Proud Boys, and later, Oath Keepers, both of which have been involved in multiple violent incidents and brag about regularly being armed. Standard tactics were used per policy under the circumstances.

Judges that make rulings grounded in constitutional principles are not terrorists. This is unhinged rhetoric from Stephen Miller. It is the Trump administration that is an existential threat to the Republic.

Legal insurrection. The President is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, not an Oregon judge. Portland and Oregon law enforcement, at the direction of local leaders, have refused to aid ICE officers facing relentless terrorist assault and threats to life. (There are more local law enforcement officers in Oregon than there are guns and badges in the FBI nationwide). This is an organized terrorist attack on the federal government and its officers, and the deployment of troops is an absolute necessity to defend our personnel, our laws, our government, public order and the Republic itself.

My goal in the coming days and weeks is to get to know you. I want to hear from you about what's working, what isn't, and your thoughts on how we can make CBS News the most trusted news organization in America and the world. I'll approach it the way any reporter would-with an open mind, a fresh notebook, and an urgent deadline.
What I can tell you on day one is that I stand for the same core journalistic values that have defined this profession since the beginning, and I will continue to champion them alongside you:
