It occurs to me a bunch of people are about to be new to poverty. I have some advice, if you want it.

1. This will be counterintuitive: Spend it while you've got it. Some money comes in, one way or another? Buy food. Buy tp, soap, shampoo, toothpaste. Socks, underwear. You'll thank yourself.

This is why I think the next Democratic president needs to use the EXACT tools that SCOTUS has handed Trump. Don't leave room for any distinctions.

Impound funds for deportation. Give ICE the USAID treatment. Refuse to collect government-backed debt. Purge MAGA loyalists from the executive branch.

Would you like to donate all or part of $300 to fix this roof at the animal shelter? We need 15 roof panels at $22=$330. We reuse much of the existing roof, but as you can see we need more panels to keep the animals dry money will need to transfer via western Union to me n ecuador. Yes? Pls? Pls?

Yeah. I was just looking around after reading the opening post, because I thought I remembered something too (which turned out to be an oft-cited 2007 study), and there is a lot of research on this.

Basically all of them conclude what you said, that it's about dominating the conversation.

Looking up studies, even women on the Supreme Court get interrupted by men—not only fellow justices, but all men—more often than their male colleagues. A LOT more.
