Foraging and gardening more to increase self-reliance and protest food costs. Committing art. Keep your nutrition up, have more strength to resist!

Despite the internet getting cut off I am still thrilled. Walked to printer and got sample scans. Took a bit to figure out how to get them onto the computer without internet but I did it. Now I know how to proceed on the coloring book project based on print results, and I have pages to color!

These seahorses are on the copper windings of an electric motor. Metal ores are heavily used in modern tech and are being deep sea mined near thriving aquatic habitats.

At last, my first piece for #birbfest2026!! Naturally realized only after starting on the blues that my usual set has a great variety of the wrong tone of blue so... it's a bit of a cluster but I did have fun 😅

Interesting article on what Texas A&M wants to censor from their education. Apparently, Plato can be quite controversial, censoring him seems like a first step in eradicating mention of homosexuality in a historical context.

Opinion | Texas A&M told me not to teach these Plato excerpts. Here's what he wrote.
Martin Peterson: The Greek philosopher explicitly urged his students to seek the truth — even when it was uncomfortable or controversial. Universities should do the same.

Anyone do resin jewelry? I took cuttings of something I can sell to someone who wishes to incorporate a bit of luck into their work. Going to let them root a bit, might take more cuttings if there seems to be a demand. 5 leaf clover on a regular basis, once found a 6 leaf one.

Been listening to movie soundtracks and thinking about what an impact they can have when well done. Inception, The Fountain, Gladiator are a few movies I can think of off the top of my head where the music is a huge part of the experience in my memory. Do you have any favorites?

Can't wait to finish this one, scan it, color it, and put it on my wall. I've wanted it as a poster for a couple of years.

Listening to a cool podcast on Pandora, "Wildly Curious", second episode of theirs I've enjoyed. This one is a scientific look at herbalism.

1) I recall after I graduated when Grandma saw my sketchbook and thought, "You would have been happier if you majored in biology." 2) I am thinking of when they talked me out of an art degree. 3) I am remembering the people who criticized my style with "that looks like a coloring book". Thank you.

Drove my neighbors to laughter describing a scene with Bill Murray in Coffee And Cigarettes, just texted it to them so they know what they were cracking up about, y'all should see it too.

You’re not weak for feeling tired. It’s human to need space, softness, and a pause.

Showing up again tomorrow, or whenever… in whatever way you can, still counts.
