I was happy to take part in the Regulating Cybersecurity 2025 conference organized in the beautiful faculty of law of the University of Granada. Among interesting contributions, I discussed how the misapplication of primary rules of PIL to cyberspace hampers the function of state responsibility.

Ι barely know how to process this information. How can people still defend it is (or should be) inconceivable...

UN's Tom Fletcher: "The situation is dire.. we have thousands of trucks ready to go.. we are demanding that the world back us in pushing Israel to let us in.. [5 trucks is] a drop in the ocean.. there are 14,000 babies that will die in the next 48 hours unless we can reach them"

I am very excited to participate tomorrow in the 2025 ESIL Research Forum in Catania titled "International law in the age of permacrisis". I will be focusing on cyberspace and specifically on the permacrisis that international responsibility faces in the cyber domain

With this blogpost I attempt to engage on yet another violation of international law from the US, this time coming from the Great Musk himself. How posts on X can (legally) become intervention to the internal affairs of other states and (realistically) a very real threat to democracy

Today there is a general strike in Greece in the memory of the dead of the Τέμπη train disaster and to protest the continuous lies, corruption, and attempts to hide by the Greek government
ThePressProject on Instagram: "The Tempe train disaster on 28 February 2023, which claimed 57 lives, exposed critical failures in Greece’s railway safety systems and sparked widespread allegations of a cover-up. Despite repeated warnings from railway workers, key safety upgrades were never implemented, and investigations have since revealed political interference, missing evidence, and potential fuel smuggling on the freight train. Two years on, mass protests, new forensic findings, and fresh legal battles continue to fuel demands for justice and accountability. #tempi #tempe #Greece #δενέχωοξυγόνο #τέμπη"

I really believe we shouldn't react to every thing a clearly deranged man says, but since he wants to add international criminal to the mix.
Annexation-> the most basic prohibition of PIL
Forced transfers-> was a war crime when Israel proposed it, remains a war crime
Trump declares US will ‘take over’ Gaza Strip as China says it opposes ‘forced transfer’ of Palestinians – live
China believes in ‘Palestinian rule over Palestinians’, says foreign ministry spokesperson after US president’s announcement critics say amounts to ethnic cleansing

Since I cannot find one, here is a starter pack for the slightly niche topic of every aspect of PIL and the interwebs. Please feel free to send me so I can add you :D

Finally the EU throws its hat in the ring with the (first of its kind for EU standards) common declaration about how PIL applies to cyberspace. Quite valuable position from an important player. We eagerly expect the actual text to see teh details but a very positive development overall!

I apologise for barging in but this is a topic quite close to my heart. Any mandarins Benelux are a disappointment unless they are Turkish/Greek imported. Mandarins are supposed to be tangy not sweet/bland 🍊

1) trying to apply the no-harm principle in cases of cyber harm in order to foster at least (some) harm redress in case of malicious cyber operations
2) how international law should become more flexible and start to apply its rules in a less rigid way shedding often unreasonable thresholds

Bluesky academics, let's get to know each other! Quote this & tell me: 1) a project you are working on & 2) an odd idea/theory you aren't working on but keep thinking about.
Here's mine:
- Whether we can have statehood without inhabitable land.
- The legal-philosophical symbolism in Wagner's Ring.
