The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."

Out tomorrow: Why do states bring cases to the ICJ - even when there’s no jurisdiction? @drnajimagi.bsky.social helps run though the current caseload. Plus with the genocide cases against Myanmar and Israel, are states trying to be useful or just delaying when they make additional interventions?

Outrageous. WSU and Newcastle advertised accredited degrees that weren't accredited. I wonder if our universities might be better run if they spent more time administering their courses and less time trying to persecute support for Palestine.

I've been trying to think of the right words to post on Oct 7. hundreds of people lost their lives on that day, but it also emboldened the worst atrocities of our time, which remain ongoing. All I can think is that ALL civilians, especially children, deserve protection and safety
