Just thinking about all the immigrants from these countries who have been coworkers, friends, mentors, classmates, neighbors, in-laws, my husband, etc. and how much shittier this country would be if they not been allowed to immigrate here. The U.S. is cutting off its whole head to spite its neck

Zoomed in on the animal. It is mid-jump, paws forward, tail high. I think’s it’s a ferret probably. White with the most perfect little black eyes and nose. It’s snowy, and it’s the color of the snow. Where is it going? Does it always bounce through the snow like that? Will it make a soft snow-crunching sound when it lands??????

I just finished Lessons in Magic and Disaster by @charliejane.bsky.social (I know I’m very slow) and it’s so good, and wholesome, and queer, and exactly right, and full of feelings. Highly recommend.
It’s my hand holding the book. It’s a hardcover with yellow text on a purple background, with daisies. The photo was taken in my living room, where you can see my YouTube campfire and a tea on a coffee table. It’s pretty cozy, but not too cozy because honestly I just didn’t have it in me to set up the shot that much. It’s been a day, ok? Finishing this book was the best part.

The book is Mesozoic Art II, with an illustration of psittacosaurs frolicking in a forest on the cover. It’s displayed on a bookstore shelf next to a book of art by Henri Rousseau, who, to my knowledge, didn’t even know what a psittacosaurus was
